Undergraduate Advising and Research (UAR) provides academic advising, programming, and support for students as they shape their Stanford education. In guiding students to engage with faculty and in supporting students’ personal and intellectual development, UAR encourages students to explore the full breadth and depth of their intellectual opportunities, to find their intellectual homes, and to discover a sense of belonging at Stanford.
Coterm students are able to take courses towards their undergraduate and graduate degree concurrently. The nature of having two programs / careers (UG and GRAD) open at the same time means that you may have to consult with more than one office or department regarding academic and registration matters. To find out more information about individual coterminal programs, read the Stanford Bulletin and department web pages.
Once you are accepted into a coterminal degree program you will be assigned an adviser in your master's department for assistance in planning a program of study to meet the requirements for the master's degree. Make an appointment with a UAR advisor to discuss applying to coterm, course selection, and University requirements as they relate to your undergraduate degree, and other considerations for finishing your undergraduate degree while working on your graduate degree.
