New Student Orientation Parent and Family Welcome

10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. (PT)

Parents and families of new undergraduate students are invited to join Provost Persis Drell for this annual welcome.

Following the Provost's remarks, a panel of student affairs administrators will discuss efforts to build community and connection among students as well as offer guidance on how you can support your student's well-being this year.

NSO Community Welcomes

Following the Parent and Family Welcome, we invite you attend virtual NSO Community Welcomes scheduled throughout the day! Please attend with your student, or ask your student to share the Zoom link with you. 

Queer Student Panel

11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (PT) - Come learn more about what QSR has to offer! Hear from a diverse panel of queer students about their experiences at Stanford. Everyone is welcome to attend! All participants and questions will be anonymous. Email us with any questions at qsr_big5_crew@stanford.edu.

Markaz Community Welcome

11:30am - 12:30 p.m. (PT) - An hour long introduction to Markaz staff, resources, and our community on zoom. Come hear from staff, current students and alumni speak about the impact The Markaz has had on their Stanford experience.

FLI Family and Student Welcome

12:00 - 1:00 p.m. (PT) - During this time you will meet students and FLI Office staff and learn more about programs and resources that are specially designed to help you thrive at Stanford.

Chicanx/Latinx New Student and Family Welcome

1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. (PT) - The students and staff at El Centro Chicano y Latino want to welcome you and your families through zoom so you can get to know the center. We will have student speakers, performers, and staff introduce you to your new communidad!

Religious & Spiritual Life Community Welcome

1:00 - 2:00 p.m. (PT) - Meet Office for Religious and Spiritual Life students and staff, engage with a multi-faith student panel, and engage in conversations with your peers at our NSO Community welcome.

Black Community Welcome

2:00 - 3:00 p.m. (PT) - The Black Community Services Center and the Black Recruitment Outreach Committee invite new students, their families, and the larger Black campus community to attend this event as we welcome you all to the Black Community at Stanford. This serves as an introduction to the vibrant, diverse community we have here, and all of the people who help us remember and build on the legacy Black students have built.

NACC (Native American Cultural Center) Welcome and Virtual Open House

2:00 - 3:00 p.m. (PT) - Welcome to the Stanford Native Community! In this virtual event, the full time NACC (Native American Community Center) staff will help introduce you all to the various resources offered through the NACC. We will also invite the leaders of different organizations, groups, and clubs associated with the Stanford Native Community to introduce themselves and their group and some favorite events. This is a great opportunity to become familiar with the NACC as well as learning about a lot of unique opportunities the Native community provides to its students!

Asian American New Student Orientation Committee (AANSOC) Community Welcome

3:00 - 4:00 p.m. (PT) - Kick off NSO with the Asian American Activities Center (A3C) and hear from members of the Asian/Pacific Islander (API) community - all families welcome!

Women's Community Center Open House and WVSO Panel

4:00 - 5:00 p.m. (PT) - Welcome Class of 2024 and transfers! Join the Women’s Community Center over Zoom for our open house where you can meet your fellow classmates and learn about the events and opportunities at the Women’s Community Center.  In the second half, we will shift over to our WVSO (Women’s Voluntary Student Organization) Leaders panel where you can hear from the leaders of organizations from across campus about the opportunities that these groups provide for community building, activism, and mentorship.

130th Opening Convocation Ceremony

President Marc Tessier-Lavigne welcomes new students and families to Stanford during this formal inauguration of the academic year.
