April Reign - "Hashtag Activism: From a Moment to a Movement"

April 25, 2018 -
12:00pm to 1:00pm
Hume Center Lounge

This Wednesday, join Ashley Newby, Kathleen Tarr and I as we host digital activist and strategist April Reign, aka @ReignofApril, for a 12pm lunch and 3pm talk about digital activism and women of color representation in media.

Emerging out of the powerful cultural community known as Black Twitter, April's viral hashtag #OscarsSoWhite and co-created #NoConfederate campaign have expanded our sense of what digital activism and activism for media representation can be. Check out this short Washington Post piece about April's campaigns.

The lunch is for undergraduates only. RSVPs to tessabrown@stanford.edu are requested for headcount but not required.
