Andrew Vasquez is the Program Administrator for the Leland Scholars Program (LSP). Working closely with the Director, Andrew coordinates and leads programming for first-generation and/or low-income (FLI) students within LSP and the greater Stanford community. As a student in the inaugural LSP I cohort, a Preceptor for LSP III and IV, and a member of the student-led LSP Council, Andrew is excited to return to Stanford and continue to support a community that has given him so much.
Prior to returning to Stanford in June 2017, Andrew had the privilege of teaching learning strategies at his alma mater high school in Palmetto, Florida. As a graduate of religious studies and education coursework (B.A. ‘16), Andrew is passionate about education and thinking critically about the ways systems can include more students with diverse abilities, identities, and ambitions. In his spare time, Andrew enjoys everything Disney and Star Wars. As a former Walt Disney World Passholder, he hopes Disneyland can fill in that void for him. If he's not at home watching Netflix, then he is probably out eating delicious, affordable food with friends.
