Course Overview

All courses engage students in the theory and practice of a particular artistic discipline.  Courses in Design, Filmmaking, Creative Writing, Dance, Studio Art, and Music among others are regularly offered.  Arts Intensive students live on campus during the program in a designated Stanford residence.  This community of students who share a passion for the arts supports a rich environment of collaboration.

Enrollment and Credit

Students receive 2 units of credit in their Arts Intensive course. Credit will be earned in the lead instructor's home department if the course is interdisciplinary. After students confirm acceptance into the seminar, they will receive notice on how to register for the summer course.  The instructor determines the grade option for AI courses (Letter, Letter or S/NC, S/NC).
