Arts Intensive VR

What to Expect During the Program

Main content start

The three-week in-residence format, and small classroom sizes, acts as a catalyst for students to engage in a high degree of artistic investigations with their peers and faculty. The residential and experiential art making are the most important mechanisms through which students build community, creative confidence, and connections with faculty.

The program is a launching pad particularly for first-year students to immerse themselves in art practice.  For rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors, the Arts Intensive is a way to focus on their craft with the close mentorship of campus faculty and guest artists.

"I have never before been in an environment where faculty and students could interact without hesitation. We engaged in and had mutual passion for art and openly learned from each other. Everyone was included and I gained so much knowledge in such a short period of time." —Arts Intensive Student
