Job Opportunity Fraud Targeting Students

The university’s Information Security Office is alerting the community to a recent scam targeting Stanford students with fraudulent part-time job opportunities. A handful of students have reportedly fallen victim to the scam in the past few months, which led to personal financial loss. Find out how to protect yourself!

BHC Activities and Course of Study

Each Bing Honors College disciplinary cohort organizes group activities to help students develop skills needed for successful scholarship and to counter the isolation that often accompanies individual research. These activities, organized by Faculty Leaders, may include:

  • Individual conferences with the Faculty Leader and Graduate Student Assistant
  • Writing workshops
  • Reviews of previous Honors theses to highlight and discuss research strategies, approaches, critical apparatus
  • Library meetings with curators and hands-on demonstrations of research tools
  • Faculty presentations on their own research and writing processes
  • Calls with expert guests
  • Individual goal-setting for the end of Bing Honors College, e.g. collecting and integrating data, approaching a literature review, narrowing a topic, completing and annotating particular readings, etc.
