Student running into Florence Moore Hall

Enrolling in Frosh 101 / Transfer 101

Main content start

Course enrollment—including for Frosh 101 and Transfer 101—for new students will open during New Student Orientation in September. This page is updated in mid-September once dorm section times have been finalized on ExploreCourses, Stanford's official course catalog.

For reference, the 2022-23 Frosh 101 and Transfer 101 course listings are linked below:

Frosh 101 is a residentially-based program, so students are encouraged to enroll in a section within their assigned residence; Transfer 101 will offer both residentially-based and classroom-based sections.

Within the ExploreCourses listings for UAR 101, there are Frosh 101 courses for each residence in which first-year students can be placed; within each “dorm course” are a number of sections associated with the residence, which will each be led by a unique pair of co-leads.

Any students interested in Frosh 101 and Transfer 101 are welcome and encouraged to enroll. Enrollment caps within a section are designed to keep group sizes and discussions intimate.
